FBI searches home of former FTX crypto exchange director
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has searched the home of Ryan Salame, the former CEO of cryptocurrency company FTX. It is not yet known what exactly the FBI is looking for and what documents and electronic devices were seized during the search. Salame himself refused to comment on the incident.
Ryan Salame worked for FTX as its chief executive officer. He stepped down from his position to focus on other projects in the crypto sphere. At this time, it is not known whether the FBI’s search is related to his work at FTX or to other projects.
It is also unclear whether Salame is a suspect in any crimes or whether his search is part of a larger investigation into FTX. We would like to remind you that there have been several major court cases in the crypto sphere recently involving abuse and fraud that have attracted the attention of the FBI and other law enforcement agencies.
In any case, the search of the former FTX executive’s home may be another signal to crypto companies and their employees to comply with laws and law enforcement requirements to avoid similar problems.
